How Much Does It Cost To Install Foam Roofing?

Foam Roofing Installation Costs
Polyurethane foam has been used for roofing material for decades, and it has proven to be a high-quality option for many types of properties with flat roofs. The foam ingredients are placed into a sprayer and they are applied to the roof in the form of a liquid, which can provide a relatively fast and simple way to seal and protect a roof. It is helpful as a means of preventing the transfer of heat and to ensure that moisture does not get into the roof.
Foam roofing can provide lower costs than what is typically found with roofing installation costs. It is durable and long-lasting, and any repairs that need to be made to the roof tend to be simple and affordable. There is also very little maintenance required with this type of roofing. It will typically just require removal of dirt and debris and an inspection after large storms to look for any signs of cracking. It is also a lightweight roofing material that will not put too much added weight onto the property.
Foam roofing installation: 800 square foot roof, basic foam.

Other considerations and costs
- It will generally take about two days to complete the work on a roof that is 1,200 square feet. Roofs of different sizes will naturally have a different time to completion.
- Adding special UV protection to the roof will add to the cost. It could add as much as 30% to the cost.
- The addition of a roof sealant could cost an added $1,000, but it can provide even more protection from leaks.
- Keep in mind that the cost will also vary for the foam roofing installation based on the geographic location of the property.

DIY considerations
- DIY foam roofing installation is possible, but it requires a substantial amount of work. You need to first prepare the roof by giving it a thorough cleaning, including the removal of dust.
- You will likely need to rent equipment to make sure the materials are properly mixed and to apply it to the roof.
- Adding a top coating of acrylic or similar material is possible as a DIY project, as well. You need to wait until the foam has set, and then apply it. This will add to the cost, but it will provide extra protection for the roof.
